Avocado Spread Recipe

      After a recent physical, I learned that my LDL “bad” cholesterol is 139 mg/dL. The desired range is less than 100 mg/dL. My non-HDL was 152 mg/dL. The desired range is less than 130 mg/dL. Fortunately, my HDL “good” cholesterol was very high at 88 mg/dL out of the desired range of greater than 50 mg/dL. All of my other results were within the desired ranges for their category. Actually, the majority of them were at the lower end of the ranges. Drop Biscuit Recipe

  Ingredients 2 cups organic whole wheat bread flour 1TBSP baking powder (aluminum-free) 1 ½ tsp. pink Himalayan salt ½ cup cold coconut oil, cut into small pieces 1 cup homemade almond milk, cold 1 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional) 1 tsp. ground nutmeg (optional) 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract (optional)   Directions Preheat oven to 400° In a large bowl, whisk together your first three ingredients. Here is where you can add spices, herbs, or zest. I added ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg. Add pieces of coconut oil to dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or fork. Almond Milk Recipe

      Ingredients 1 cup raw, unsalted almonds 4-6 cups purified water 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract (optional) 1 TBSP raw Buckwheat honey (optional) 1 glass mixing bowl with pour spout 1 Nut milk bag 3-4 pint sized canning jars   Directions Soak your almonds in purified water on your counter overnight. Make sure water covers the almonds by 1-inch. Drain your soaked almonds in a strainer and rinse well. Place 4-6 cups of purified water in a high-speed blender. The more water you use the thinner the milk. The less water, the creamier the milk. Add your soaked almonds to the blender. Add vanilla extract and raw Buckwheat honey, if desired.
