Self-Care for the Holidays

Today, as many people celebrate Christmas, it’s a day of communing with others, giving gifts, and spreading cheer to family and friends. It’s a day of magic and mistletoes. Cider and caroling. Surprises that sparkle. And atmospheres all aglow. In our time of celebrating with others, let’s not forget to practice self-care. We, too, need to nurture ourselves. Take time away to:

  • Meditate
  • Bathe in relaxing bath salts to unwind, detox, and recharge
  • Practice yoga to center yourself
  • Journaling to discover new things about yourself
  • Read a book
  • Sit quietly and enjoy some chamomile tea to relieve stress

So, as you enjoy a cup of mulled cider, eggnog, or hot cocoa, think on this: You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.
